Agenda Revealed - Join Us June 17, 2021

Hey there! AI LA’s Responsible AI Symposium is a week away and we’re excited to reveal our speaker lineup and agenda!

On June 17th, we will be answering the "So What" of AI Responsibility in partnership with the AI Responsibility Lab. In doing so, we will be engaging with you in reflection and interaction to explore how to kick start your own practical journey in reducing the harms and risks created by AI Systems.

To kick off our Symposium, we are honored to have Eric Boyd, Corporate Vice President at Microsoft. Microsoft’s products touch over a billion people and they are committed to the advancement of AI-driven by ethical principles that put people first. In his keynote, we’ll learn why AI Responsibility matters to Microsoft and what they are doing to support their teams, customers, and partners in ensuring the responsible design and implementation of their products.

Eric Boyd leads the AI Platform team within Microsoft’s Cloud + AI division. This global organization includes Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services, Cognitive Search, and internal platforms that provide data, experimentation, and Graphics Processing Units (GPU) cluster management to groups across Microsoft. Our mission is to make Microsoft’s Azure AI platform the best platform for first- and third-party customers.

June 24th: Community Social

We haven’t met in person since March 2020. It’s time to put on a pair of pants and join us for a casual social mixer at Bar Bohemien in Culver City.

July 17th: AI Ethics Research Conference

The AI Robotics Ethics Society, the nation's premier student-led AI ethics organization, is collaborating with the AI Ethics Journal and their regional AIRES Chapters to take their annual conference online.
