Hey!
This is your last chance to apply for the Spring Open Innovation Challenge (OIC) to help create the most efficient solution using satellite imagery to detect invasive pests in LA County's tree canopy.
Whether you are an engineer, data scientist, geospatial scientist, or designer — there are existing teams you can join or plenty of individuals you can team up with.
We require that at least one team member attend Friday, March 18th, 6-9 pm in Culver City. You will have an opportunity to meet other individuals and teams, so you can create a new team or join an existing team.
The kickoff weekend will be used to introduce stakeholders, sponsors, georeferenced data, and partners, and it will help guide you through the 4 weeks leading up to the Demo Day.
By the end of the weekend, formed teams will submit their formal project pitch that outlines how they are framing the design challenge, as well as a prospective workflow. Teams will receive feedback from stakeholders to help them shape their work for the next month. Participants can also use the time to form teams and begin their data analysis using computing resources on-site.
